Our Story

Welcome To
The Chocolate Chanterelle

We are a small family business with a passion for healthy living. We grow organic vegetables on our farm here in the New Forest. Preferring not to eat processed food including processed sugars, we began making our own chocolate using organic and vegan ingredients. We decided to use alternative types of sugar, including maple, coconut and raw cane sugars, all of which are lower on the glycemic index making them a healthier option in the chocolate. We use only natural plant sourced food colourings and flavourings with no additives and all our packaging is also plant sourced and fully compostable/biodegrable.

Where We Are

The New Forest National Park

We feel very privileged to live here in The New Forest with its ancient woodlands and heaths, founded by William The Conqueror in 1079, it is an area of outstanding beauty. My family have lived here in Shobley for nearly a century, with commoners’ rights they ran a dairy herd on the heathlands. The autumn brings fruit such as sloes and blackberries for foraging. The woodlands come alive with beautiful specimens of wild fungi from where our inspiration for our unique range of chocolate mushrooms came from.
